Paula Abdul

Paula Abdul is an American pop/R&B recording artist, songwriter, dancer, television personality, and actress.

Abdul first rose to musical fame following the release of her debut album in 1988 entitled Forever Your Girl, which reached number-one atop the Billboard 200, and spawned 5 top 10 hits, 4 of which reached number-one on the Billboard Hot 100, including her signatures "Straight Up" and "Opposites Attract".

Apart from her up-beat musical stylings combining dance-pop with R&B, Abdul is also quite famous for her complex choreography and dance moves as depicted in her music videos and live performances.

Since the mid-1990's, Paula Abdul has been considerably less active in the music industry, and her career was often considered "over" by audiences around the world. However, Abdul made a major comeback in 2000 as one of the original judges on the popular reality television singing competition, American Idol, until departing from the show in 2009.
