Brandy

Brandy Norwood is an American R&B/pop singer, songwriter, and actress.

Brandy released her self-titled debut studio album, Brandy, in 1994. Although the album only reached number 20 on the Billboard 200, it spawned 3 top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, "I Wanna Be Down", "Baby" and "Brokenhearted".

4 years later, in 1998, Brandy released her second and most successful album to-date entitled Never Say Never, which reached number two on the Billboard 200, and spawned the major hit, "The Boy is Mine", a duet with fellow R&B star, Monica. The single spent a record-breaking 13 weeks at number-one atop the Hot 100, and won a Grammy. Never Say Never also brought forth Brandy's second most successful single to-date, "Have You Ever", which also reached number-one on the Hot 100.

A frequent actress, Norwood starred in her own television sitcom entitled Moesha as the title character, Moesha Mitchell, from 1996 to 2001. Norwood later went on to star in her first full-length made-for-television film, Cinderella, alongside R&B/pop legend Whitney Houston, comedienne Whoopi Goldberg, and actress/singer Bernadette Peters.

Brandy is considered the "Princess of R&B", along with fellow R&B singers, Monica, with whom she collaborated with on "The Boy is Mine", and the late Aaliyah.
